Hello avid readers of Becky's Blog,
As the title of this post suggests this is Becky's loving husband Grey posting, therefore she is unresponsible for any misinformation presented here. So without further a-do I present my important scientific discovery.
I have discovered how to save your aquarium fish from death and disease!
Before I continue I would like to take a moment to honor all the fish that were lost in discovering this cure. Thank you.
As you may or may not know I am a semi-avid aquariumist. In the course of keeping aquariums I have encountered many sick fish and none of them have ever survived their various treatments. These treatments range from seperate hospital tanks to actual medicines and all have been inefective until today! Let me set the scene for this miraculous cure.
This morning I noticed that one of my angel fish was dying. He (or maybe she, there is no way to tell until they do the baby thing) was laying sideways on the bottom of the tank. I told myself "Oh well, he's dying and they never recover, I'll just buy a new fish." So after I lovingly braved the southern snow storm so that may wonderful wife could get 75% off Hallmark ornaments and $8.32 for a new fish, we returned home to find my dead fish swimming around perfectly fine. So as you can see the cure is quit simple. Completely give up hope on the sick recovering, show them that they are already replaced, and they will find the strength to survive. In honor of the three full seasons of the Office that we have watched during snow days, I will call this the Dwight K. Schrute cure for aquatic species. (*note the aquatic part, I in no way guarantee this works for people)
My wife is now convinced that I trained my fish to play dead so that I could trick her into getting a new fish, which is completely untrue. Angelfish can not be trained and are in no way related to opossums.
P.S. the title of this blog is a lie, and most of you have tasted her cooking. ;)

Role Reversal
Grey and I were sitting on the couch talking about what we were going to do tonight on our snow day and this actually came out of our mouths. :)
Becky: Grey, (he's in charge of the laundry for the day) did you put the laundry in the dryer?
Grey: No
Becky: All your shirts and pants will be wrinkly...
Grey: That's fine, I'll just iron them tonight
Becky: YEAH! And I'll watch the national championship!
:)

Happy Snow day! Everyone be careful!
Love,
B

Going back to school married
Some interesting things happened today on my first day back as a married woman and I thought you all would be interested in hearing them.
1) Some of my kids didn't remember that I was getting married and then when my other students corrected them on my name, they'd down right through a hissy fit and refuse to use my new name.
2) When I walked into my Principal's office, he said, "Well how's the old married woman?" (after he hugged me of course)
However, I guess I have officially entered into the "old fart married club" as I like to call it and ya know what? I'm totally ok with it.
3) Some of my students kept getting James and Lancaster mixed up so they ended up calling my Jamescaster for the entire class period.
4) Last and most certainly my favorite: In EVERY one of my classes, sometimes by multiple students, I got asked if I NOW lived with my boyfriend. I smiled (laughing hysterically inside) and told them that since we were married, we now lived together. You should have seen the relief on their faces. Good night.

Happy New Years!
So I must say that 2010 was a big year.
-Graduated with a master's degree
-Got engaged
-GOT MARRIED!!!
-Got my first job teaching
-Moved to Chapel Hill(for a month), Greenville, and Spartanburg
-Got two precious kitties
-Bought a house
-Got a flu shot
........
You know what Grey and I prayed that 2011 would bring?
-A 2nd year teaching contract
-No kids :) (we're not financially stable yet)
But seriously. I am completely humbled at where the Lord has brought me in a year. I've been blessed to be surrounded by amazing friends, sisters, brothers, parents, and a husband. The Lord has proved faithful time and time again to show me how he is working in their lives. He sends me God winks in the ability to see them grow. It's absolutely amazing being in this very place that He has me.
So here's to 2011! I can't wait to see what He has in store! Who knows...maybe Jenny will officially get a blog or mom will get her knee fixed from dancing to Soulja Boy and maybe I can convince Grey to get another kitty. :)

Things learned from 1 week of marriage!
1)A spa brings out Grey's inner feminine world. This "inner feminine world" is very small indeed, but it has most definitely been brought out already.
2)It is perfectly fine to lay in a bed and read for hours on your honeymoon. It's whatever makes us happy, right?
3)Hotels make 50% of their profit from offering movies in hotel rooms. Even the movies offered (like Letters to Juliet) that were over a year old were still 15 bucks. Forget movie night.
4)Grey has no reservations about waking up, getting about 2 inches from my face, and talking to me. He CLEARLY has not smelled his own morning breath. :) After the first time, I usually just covered his mouth and pointed towards the bathroom. I'm such a loving wife, aren't I?
5)I've heard from so many people that my wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of my life. While it is true that on our wedding day, I was THRILLED to be marrying Grey - I was so excited and giddy, this was not the happiest day of my life. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but if this was the happiest day of my life, then what do I have to look forward to when this day ends? If this is the happiest day of my life then when it's over, it's over.
To me, it was not about the wedding or even the wedding day. It was about the life together that Grey and I were about to embark on. Even after the wedding was over, I was SO excited that I got to begin my life with my husband. I'm STILL giddy over the fact that I never have to leave him again and that we can truly live life together! :) How exciting!
Yay for marriage!
