Selfie Sunday goes Downhill

We've had a few showings this week, hence the lack of blogging!
Anywho, here are our Selfie Sunday pictures which started out going pretty well...and then kiddo (and mommy) started getting crazy eyes...

Letters

**Warning** Some pictures may be too "real" for certain eyes...

Dear Mom,
I'm sorry I didn't want to nurse on both sides but why must you do that pumping thing and throw the milk away?  That stuff is VALUABLE.
Can I also ask? What is this bed of Heaven that I'm currently laying on?  Why have you withheld this from me?  I LAY ON A BED OF NOTHING. And you guys lay on this comfy thing?  Not. Fair.
Really, can I have it? Please?  I've drooled all over it already so technically it's mine. Just go ahead and place it in my crib. Thanks again!
Love, James

Dear Home Owner,
Was the extra dose of bleach sprayed on me really necessary?  The Terminix guy came yesterday and wiped me out.
Sincerely,
Ms. Black
 Dear Ms. Black,
Yes. Yes it was necessary.  Thanks for asking.

Dear James,
Mommy and Daddy just love your naked butt.  We think it's the cutest thing ever.  Please don't crawl any time soon.  Mommy isn't ready to chase you all over the house.
James, really. Please don't crawl soon. MOMMY IS NOT READY FOR THIS!  I haven't baby proofed the house!

Have you whizzed on the bed yet?  Let's hope not.
Don't get used to this comfy bed kiddo. You don't get anything like this for a couple of years.
We love you bunches James!!
Love, Mommy and Daddy

Randoms

1.I've had to start locking Franklin in the garage during James's nap times.  Apparently they're such good buddies that Franky CAN NOT STAND to be locked out of James's room.  I've squirted water at her, I've dragged her away, I've locked her in our bedroom...she still manages to run back to his room and HOWL when he's sleeping.
2. This jambalaya was amazing! (Recipe can be found under "Pins I've tried" on Pinterest)

Note!  It does call for 3 kinds of meat but Grey and I left out the chicken.  There aint nobody that can afford 3 kinds of meat in ONE dish
3. We have a fruit thief in the house...

4. He's one happy kid - it makes me happy to get to hang out with him all day every day!!
5. Today the kids started back at Hillcrest.  Not gonna lie, there is a little part of me mourning today. Maybe it's just the fact that I rarely have adult interaction before 5 pm every day?  Who knows.  I've signed up to help with the PTA and our math department head has put me in charge of everyone's birthdays!  That should give James and me about 20 chances to go to school and hang out with other people this year.  I'm excited!
6. I started a play group!!!  While I do love staying at home, it can sometimes get repetitive and like I said, there aren't a whole lot of intense conversations going on between James and me.  SO! I figured out that there are 6 stay at home moms at our church, all desperate to get out of the house and to mix it up every now and then.  We're starting to have play dates at the park every Thursday and I couldn't be more excited!  We did a trial run last Friday and I literally had a huge smile on my face the entire day. Plus, I think it's important for James to get out and see other kids, get some germs, eat some dirt...etc
7. Grey and I are watching a Disney movie every Monday.  We're going in the order in which they were made - last night was Cinderella!
8. That should be all for now!  I'm trying to do a better job of updating regularly.  I know that the happiness of your day depends on Jesus and reading my blog updates. :)
See ya!!

My Sunday

7:40- James gets up (I know...I'm quite lucky)
8:00- I nurse James and then we play while Grey gets ready for church
8:45- Grey feeds James a breakfast of pears and pineapples while I get ready
9:00- I start to change James's poopy diaper
9:01- James pees all over his face and myself
9:01:30- I call for BACKUP!
9:03- Grey and I gain control of the situation
9:25- We leave for church
10:00- Church starts
10:17- James usually naps from 10:30-12 every day so at this point, I go down to the kids room to try and steal him and the swing for his naptime.  I set him up in a quiet room by himself so he could take a nap.  I sit outside the door and wait.
10:30 - James is still wide awake and is now screaming despite my efforts of checking on him every 3-4 minutes.
10:30:30- I start crying as I realize that he will NOT be taking a nap unless I do something different
10:31 - I give the swing back and resort to sitting in a dark room all by myself for 45 minutes while James snoozes in my arms and I cry.
10:55 - James is still napping and I'm still crying
11:15 - Church is done and they're going through the last of the announcements.  I have now successfully missed the entire church service.
11:20 - I check my nose for boogers and make it back up to the service as they're doing the last announcement, hand James to Grey, and proceed to start crying again.  For the past 7 1/2 months, either James has had to nurse for 30+ minutes during the service, or I've had nursery duty, or I've had to sit with him while he's napped because they don't have enough volunteers to have a "napping babies room."  It gets tiring after a while.
12:00- Grey lets me make an Ingles run where I stock up on Ragin' Ranch chips, dark chocolate, and buffalo chicken.
2:30-4:00- James takes a beautiful nap.  The world is good again. :)
4:09 - James goes to switch sides while nursing and projectile burp/vomits all over my chest, stomach, pants, the pillow that I was leaning against, and our bed.
4:09:30 - Sigh. I again call for backup
4:10 - Grey takes James to get him all cleaned up and I strip our bed, change outfits, and throw everything into the washing machine
4:30- I go to change James's diaper
4:31 - James pees on me again
4:32 - I announce that Grey in charge of James for the rest of the night
4:35 - Grey takes James to Staples to give me a break
4:35-5:15 - I fold an old load of laundry and put it away, stick the load from the washer into the dryer, wash all the dirty dishes, clean the kitchen counter tops, scrub the toilet, cook Grey's meat for his lunches, and stick a batch of zucchini chips in the oven.
5:30 - We all eat dinner
6:00 - I go to check on the zucchini chips and realize that I had forgotten to PAM the pan before sticking the zucchini on there.  I scrape it all off and throw it in the trash.  Tomorrow we will try it again.
6:30- I think about taking a bath tonight but then realize that having to undress and dry myself off afterwards requires too much energy.
8:09 - Here I am, updating you all on my lovely day.  I do believe that as soon as I'm done here, I'm going to bed.  Tomorrow is a new day!!

When was the last time you got peed on twice? :)

Greenbeans

This is the first batch of food that I've bought instead of made...
Well played James, well played.  Doesn't he look just a tad guilty?

Things you didn't know 7 days ago

1. I found James on all fours this morning in his crib.  It's officially time to move the mattress down a notch.
2. I have a slight obsession with One Direction.
3. I'm working my way through all the seasons of the Office while James naps.  I'm currently on season 5.
4. I have $200.00 worth of books for James in my amazon shopping cart.
5. I had a dream that I found out I was pregnant at 20 weeks.
Scared. The. Living. Daylights. Outta. Me.
6. I've made Grey promise that we won't have another kid until I've slept through the night for at least a year.
7. Did I really make that above promise?  Wasn't I originally saying that I was DONE-ZO having kids?
8. I'm trying to convince Grey that adoption (with a kid that's already sleeping through the night) is the way to go.
9. Have you ever tried Ragin' Ranch potato chips by Herrs?  They're DA BOMB DOT COM.  Seriously. I had a bad day the other day and Grey and I went out and got a bag...I'm not ashamed to admit that I ate the entire bag within 12 hours. They're unstoppable good.
10. Can I buy you some Ragin' Ranch Potato Chips?  I'll ship 'em to your house for free!
11. No house showings since June. Sigh.

Love y'all - Thanks for reading.

7 months!!!

James turned 7 months old two days ago!
He's eating solid foods like a champ!
His likes: BANANAS! Sweet Potatoes, Apple Sauce, Plums, butternut squash
His dislikes: Peas

We need to get more veggies in there...
He's your typical "bouncing baby boy" - He's FULL of energy and loves being active!
Today's photo shoot involved an impromptu setting - Kiddo was going CRAZY so I decided to snap some shots. Hope you enjoy :)

Mr. Hat Man

Seeing himself in the mirror for the first time :)
(excuse the hand marks, earlier yesterday he decided he wanted to violently pet the mirror)
