Grey

*Grey is currently teaching, taking classes for his master's degree, and on top of that, coming home to study for his actuary exams for an hour every night. He's my hero.

*Grey has decided that he's going to attempt a no/low carb diet to help with his weight lifting.  Not this girl.  I've had cheerios, goldfish, and spaghetti in the past 24 hours to make up for him. :)

*Grey took me to see the Kodo drummers at the Peace Center this past weekend for my birthday.  They were WICKEDLY AWESOME!!!

*Grey has convinced himself that he's never been allergic to poison ivy. Thus, this past weekend, he thought nothing of practically rolling around in it. On Tuesday, when he almost couldn't open up his left eye due to all the poison ivy on his face, he realized that his previous statement was incorrect.

Yesterday

Yesterday I had yet another student tell me that they were pregnant.  This one broke my heart.  I've been praying that this kid would come to know Jesus for the past couple of years.  Maybe this is what it'll take.

I'm very thankful in the fact that I have never questioned who the Lord is - whether He exists or not.  I am however, currently really struggling with His Sovereignty.

I can count on two hands, the number of couples that I know that are currently or have struggled with infertility.  Some were able to get pregnant on their own after years of trying, some were able to get pregnant from doing fertility treatments, some are still trying.

Even though I'm childless, I can only imagine the pain that someone might go through.  Yet I question this: I know that the Lord is sovereign and in control and fully capable of stopping or allowing anything in the world to happen.  Why isn't this something simple for Him to do?  To not allow these young kids who can't even take care of themselves to conceive and instead, let those that are ready?

I understand that everything happens for a reason and that there would be no consequences for sex. I understand that He allows certain things to happen or not happen for His glory - for us to become more like Him and grow closer to Him.  I understand this but I still struggle.

I ran 11 miles in a blizzard

I've got baked spaghetti in the oven and bbq chicken in the crockpot

We got THIS much snow!! :)

(I needed the flash...sorry) I painted this and it's hanging in our guest bedroom.  I've got to put the letters H-O-P-E- in our bedroom

I sewed a couple of these

I've still got to:
Drop off a bag of clothes to Goodwill, get my passport picture taken, run, call Terminix, and get contacts! :)

Recent Happenings

*Completed week 8 out of 12 for my half marathon (it's getting close!)
*Ran 10 miles on Saturday and then nursed myself back to health for the rest of the weekend :)
*There is quite the stomach virus going around Hillcrest - kids are projectile vomiting left and right.  I've heard/seen 4 kids in the past 2 days
*Went to the trainer about a possible stress fracture in my foot today...she just laughed at me
*I've been sewing my own infinity scarves.  I'll have to post pictures
*Grey and I found a ballin' deal on Living Social - an hour long massage with a 30 minute foot treatment for $55.  We totally bought 2 and are planning on using them during spring break
*We went and saw Identity Thief.  TOTALLY HILARIOUS but the language was a tad rough. Go see it - it was way worth it
*I haven't been sleeping well...Grey has been the cause of it.  Between grinding his teeth, rolling over really hard, licking my elbow in the middle of the night (twice), farting on my leg so loudly that I wake up (twice), and snoring/sniffling, it's been rough.  I feel like I'm a walking zombie

Happy Tuesday. :)

Awkward...

Me:  Good morning *student*!  How are you?
Student:  (Shakes head) I just can't look at you the same
Me: Why?
Student:  All my friends have crushes on you
Me: Oh. Um. Well. That's awkward.
Student: I know.

Crafts and Walmart

Crafts from last weekend:

I went to Walmart today for my weekly grocery shopping.  Walmart never ceases to amaze me.  The produce is horrible, my shopping cart always gets stolen, I get blamed for selling random women gift cards and get pulled aside by the store manager....you never know what you're going to get into when you go.
Today, within 10 minutes of my trip, I pass by two older women (40ish) to go in front of their cart to take some chicken broth (that they're BLOCKING) and the one woman looks at me and then looks at her friends and says, "You better watch your purse."
WHAT?!  Do I look like a purse snatcher?!  So offended.

Near the last 10 minutes, I was standing in one of the 3 open lines on their busiest day...Anywho. The couple in front of me was maybe in their 60's.  They were pulling off the whole "Duck Dynasty" theme (long beards, full camo).  The man in front was being a gentleman and was in the middle of unloading the entire cart when he picked up some lingerie that was in their cart.  As he put in on the grocery belt, he got the biggest smile on his face and just giggled.
:)

Thanks Walmart for another eventful trip!

Bunk Bed Rails

Grey said that he's going to have to get me bunk bed rails...
I fell out of our bed two nights ago...at 9:55 pm. :)

My legs were still laying in the bed and I fell head first and banged my head and elbows on the side bed railing.

Grey said that when he rolled closer to me for warmth (psh...), I tried rolling away from him and fell right out.

Good gracious.
