And just like that, James takes one more step towards being an independent little man.

Conversations with James

From the mouth of our wee babe himself...

"I LOVE you Emmie Lyn. I LOVE you." (With big kisses on her head)

"It's OK baby girl. It's OK. I'll feed you."

(Running out to the backyard) "I can't run!!" (Sits down and cries)

(Points to my chest) "Mommy. That one bigger. Have Emmie nurse that one."

Glory.

2 months!

Miss Emmie Lyn is 2 months old! Whoop Whoop!
 Emmie,
You are quite the little lady!  Full of joy, your coos are the cutest! You love to be outside and you love to lay under your play mat. You still protest at tummy time and you absolutely HATE your bouncy chair.
You nurse (on a typical day) every three hours during the day and usually 2-3 times at night within a 12 hour period. You're starting to regularly give me a 5-6 hour stretch from when you go down but then you play catch up and you're up nursing every 1.5-2 hours after that.
We've thankfully stopped having the 2 hour pooping episodes at night although you still prefer to save all your poops for the wee hours of the morning. I think those tend to be some of the reasons why you wake up a lot at night. Don't worry girl, you'll get the hang of pooping during the day soon.
You love your big brother although he tends to forget to be gentle with you. He enjoys holding you for all of 3 seconds and then he drops you like he would a bat. Don't worry though, Momma always has a hand on you.

At your 2 month appointment, you weighed a whooping 11lbs 3 oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. That's the 60% for weight and the 35% for height. Get it little lady. Get it. (Brother was never over the 40% for weight)
The Doc said you should start giggling in the next two months and we can't wait! We love you Emmie Lyn!

Revenge

When your backyard seeks revenge after chopping some bushes down...
Poison ivy folks. All over my body. Esh.

Easter Egg Dying

Disclaimer: Easter Egg Dying should be an activity done prior to marriage.
Did we do it?
No.
Did I have the shock of a life time when I asked my husband to help my son dye easter eggs and he turned into an OCD fanatic that had to have each egg as he put it, "dark colored and smooth all over?"
Yes.
Dying Easter Eggs will never be the same.
Enjoy!  (In one of the pictures, Grey is actually grimacing. That should tell you how uneasy he was about letting ole Jamesy dye the eggs.)

 (Grimace)

"Crack it peel it mommy? I do it!"

Our finished products - Happy Easter!

Selfie Sunday

(2 days late)
Grey went to men's group on Sunday night so this was my first night alone with having to get both kids ready for bed. Surprisingly, it wasn't terrible.
Stressful? Yes.
Did some people (not mentioning who) cry? Yes.
But I survived to live another day! Woo hoo!

We got desperate and attempted to take some selfies. Be forewarned. The pictures aren't of fantastic quality, but the kids in them are pretty cute.
Dreaded tummy time (She's gotten lazy with it. If I lay her flat on the floor, she'll just lay her head down and try to go to sleep. I've got to prop her up on something for her to actually attempt to lift her head up)

 "James! Get in this picture!"

"Mommy. Take picture me playing."
"Take picture of me and squirrel?" (The kid cheesed but refused to actually look at the camera)
Happy March!
