Final countdown

I'm ten days or less away from meeting baby #2! As of today, I'm dilated two cm and they'll check me again on Monday.
Here's the nursery sans (hehe KPS) much needed decorations. But I'll get to those in due time once we know if baby is a girl or boy. For now, here!

37 weeks

Feeling: huge. (That's a maternity shirt)
Gestational diabetes numbers: excellent. My fasting numbers have gone down. Woot!
Baby: weighs 6.5lbs, heart beat was 141, and has my awesome cheeks.
My rings still fit, I had to have help removing my shoes today, I've had cramping since last night, I want alcohol, and I'm ready to pop this baby out!
This weekend: James is going on a mini vacation at Grammy and PaPa's house. Grey and I are going to tackle the nursery. Pictures of that and the dresser redo are coming!
James also had a sweet birthday party with family yesterday. My dad took some pictures so I'll post about that when I get them.

New Years Resolutions

Christmas!  Christmas was a crazy, busy, family filled, awesome two weeks of Jesus, SANTA, and family time.
It. Was. Awesome.
James was super spoiled with a train tent, a basketball goal, a fishing set, and lots of stickers, books, and other toys. That boy is loved by his grandparents and family!

Side note: James turns 2 on Saturday...tears.

ok! A look back at last year's resolutions!
2015 Resolutions!
Me:
*I'm going to keep a prayer journal where I write down things daily that I'm praying about.  I did it once in college and it was really cool to visually see how the Lord answered prayers.
*I'm doing a fitness goal each month - January's goal is to complete 1500 squats.
*I REALLY want to get back into running.
Grey:
*He wants to deadlift 500lbs
*He is currently studying for his actuary exams and his goal is to pass the first one by this summer.
James:
*He wants to grow some teeth (We now have 3 tiny nuggets that have broken through...3 teeth in 1 1/2 weeks=lots of crankiness)
*He wants to communicate a little better
Ours:
*SELL OUR STINKIN HOUSE.

Me: I did the prayer journal all of January and then stopped. I did January and Feb's fitness goals and then stopped. I got back into running and lost some weight and then I got pregnant and stopped.
Grey: He succeeded in deadlifting 500lbs and he got really worn out studying for the actuary exams so he stopped.
See a trend?
James: Accomplished ALL OF HIS GOALS! Woo yeah!
Our family goal - SOLD! (Thanks God!)

Ok - 2016 goals!
Me:
*Same as two years ago, birth a baby and lose the baby weight!
*Make it a year with breastfeeding
*Try to save some money by doing things myself. So far I've made a homemade all purpose cleaner, dish detergent, and laundry detergent. (We usually buy laundry detergent at Sam's - I can get 150 loads for 20 bucks. With my homemade detergent, I get over 500 loads for $15...score!)
Grey:
*Add 50lbs to his current squats
*Add 25lbs to his current bench
*Add 65lbs  to his current deadlift
James:
*He's already talking in 3-4 word sentences, but more communication is always better
*Be an awesome big brother
*Maybe become potty trained?
New kid:
*Survive the first year of life with a crazy mommy and a toddler big brother :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Observations

In both pregnancies, I've seen similarities...
1. Snoring. Grey says I SAW logs at night.
2. My "nesting" consists of uncontrollable crafting and baking.
3. I want to binge watch all 10 seasons of Friends

I no longer can:
1. Lay James down in his crib
2. Outrun my toddler
3. Only wake up once a night to pee.
4. Get up quickly from the couch. Grey laughs. Mean.
5. Fit into half my maternity shirts.
6. Claim "no stretch marks" yet!
6. Sit with James in the rocking chair. With my belly, we just don't fit.

I can't wait to:
1. Eat whatever whenever
2. Sleep on my back!
3. Drink an adult beverage.
4. Run. Freely. Without peeing.

32 weeks!

Let's compare:
James's pregnancy-At his 31 week ultrasound, he weighed in at 3.9lbs, was in the 37th percentile, and his heartbeat was 137.

And he was quite crammed in my tiny uterus.

Baby #2 at 32 weeks
I think I'm a little more pointy?

Kiddo weighed in at 4.1lbs, was in the 37th percentile, was head down (YES!) and their heartbeat was 139.
Similar!? Yes. Sweet kiddo has my nose again and looks a lot like James :)

Ah. Pregnancy. 9/10 months of puking, back pain, constant urination, waddling due to feeling like the kid's head is coming out at any moment (too much information!?), cravings of corndogs and fudge, dance parties in utero between 1-3am, being kicked in the ribs...ahhh...
It's *such* a magical time. ;)

32 weeks - for the past two weeks, I've had a lot of back pain, some extreme pressure at times, and I've reverted back to the first trimester tiredness. BUT! I just cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people, baked gingerbread houses for 15 kids, and  I chase a "Mommy! RUN!" toddler all day long with the normal chores of upkeeping the house and providing meals. Mom says I'm "overdoing it." Psh.
Anywho, 8 months! 2 months at most left!  WOO HOO!!!
We finally have a boy and a girl name picked out!
YAY!

Yikes.

I just got an email from the baby gods asking if my hospital bag was packed.
What?!?!?!
No.
But! We are making progress guys!
We're stealing my sister's crib at the end of December (thank you!!) and after searching for MONTHS on craigslist for a dresser with a 50 dollar budget, I'm happy to report that I had success!
I found a solid wood dresser just like James's dresser (also a craigslist purchase for $40) for a whopping $30!!!!
This sucker was at an estate liquidation sale and it had the deceased woman's clothes in it when I got it home and opened it up...Yikes.
It needs a good bit of work but I'm super excited. I'll post before and after pictures once I'm finished.
Woo hoo!
