13 weeks!

So Baby Lanc is due Jan 12th!

Here are 2 pictures from our 12 week ultrasound. It looks like our kiddo is legless in the first one (don't worry, he/she is not) and he/she is upside down in the second one appearing to suck their thumb.

So far I'm feeling good.  I've had hardly no morning sickness (which I know is totally a blessing).

I've gained 1 lb in the first trimester! :)  

I've taken naps every stinking day since we found out (some until 6:30 at night) and for the most part, I've still managed to sleep a good 10 hours a night. 

Grey has been a good sport and has managed to sneak in naps when I do to "help out with the pregnancy."

At the 12 week ultrasound, our kiddo did NOT like the ultrasound tech.  Baby Lanc kept kicking and punching the poor lady. :)  We've got a feisty child on the way!

The first heart beat at 8 weeks was 160 and the heartbeat at 12 weeks was 173.

We're still debating if we want to find out the sex or not.  As of right now, the decision is to not find out, but Grey is currently trying to change my mind. :)

We just came back from a half week in the mountains of TN so next up will be vacation pictures! :)

Last night

I had the best sleep that I've had in the past 3 months. 

 I slept from 11:00pm-10:18am.

Snakes

Apparently we attract snakes.  Apparently the netting that we put up for our lettuce garden wins every battle. It's a little hard to tell in the pictures, but snakes #1 and 2 are right at a yard long each.  I think Snake #2 is way bigger than a yard...he appears to be that long and he's coiled up.

This Year

Today is my last day with students for the summer.
 Praise. The. Lord.

Things I've learned this year:
1. Kids WILL remember you falling out of your chair in class 2 years ago.
2. Some kids will hate you (and tell you that they hate you).
3. I've really started praying for some of my individual kids and in terms of their relationship with me, it's been more tolerable than I expected (with the exception of one kid)
4. Kids need Jesus SO badly.
5. Juniors and Seniors think that they're adults.  They think they're mature enough to make decisions like when to not use birth control.
6. Kids will remember the nickname that they gave me two years ago when I got married (Lancaster + James = Lames)
7. I had 3 girls tell me that they were pregnant.  I had another one in class that had a 6 month old.  As sad as it is, getting pregnant is totally the cool thing to do.

This semester has really been one of my favorites EVER! (Ya know, in all 3 years that I've been teaching...)
I've had fantastic kids - no one has been a Debbie-Downer, every kid has really put forth effort, they've laughed along with me instead of at me...it's just been fun!On to the summer!
