Oh Wednesday...what happened today you might ask?

Got to school and got scolded by a teacher.  Apparently my kids are making up lies about me  refusing to let them go take their AP test.  Um yeah. Not true.

Had a kid spit out snot wads in toilet paper and leave them on his desk.  (SO thankful for Lysol)

Got to explain to a kid why "you talk like an African American" is NOT an appropriate comment to make

Grades were due. I turned them in 3 minutes early

Got to explain to a kid why "are you checking out my A*S" is also NOT an appropriate comment to YELL across the room

Is it Friday yet?

Britney Spears

On the way home from a Hillcrest soccer game, I popped in the "Best of Britney Spears" cd.  My husband immediately said, "It's not loud enough" and cranked up the volume.  He then proceeded to sing Every. Stinkin. Lyric.

Apparently he was a Britney Spears fan back in...middle school

It never gets old :)

Life

Grey has a 48 gallon fish tank in our dining room area.  Woke up this morning to about 40 of the 48 gallons of water on our floor.

Our floors are ruined.

Such is life.  :)

Updates and Comments :)

I survived camping!!! Grey gave me an overall score of a B+. (I'll take what I can get).  Apparently, the fact that I brought tennis shoes but left them in the car and thus only wore flipflops gave me the low grade.  For the record, I packed enough clothes to provide his highness with an extra sweatshirt when he was cold. 
B+ my butt...

From a student: "Hey Mrs. L - those Boston guys are from Russia.  That's over there by Iraq. "
Oh my...how there is so much I want to say to that...

Grey got a new job!!!! WOO HOO!!! He'll be moving to Greenville county which means that we'll have the exact same schedule. YAY!

From a student: Hey Mrs. L - I put the laughter in manslaughter"
...no words.

From a group of male students: "Hey Mrs L - have you thought about coming to first week with us?"
Me: Nope - not going to come
Students: Please?  We're not going to do anything!
Me: NO! You all have no idea about me and my *cough* "bad" self.  You couldn't handle me!
Students: What...you mean that you'd actually stay up past 8:30?
Dang...

This weekend...

We're going camping!!!!!!!!! (at the farm!)

It's supposed to thunderstorm on Friday.

Grey told me to bring a rain jacket.

Hotdogs by a rained out campfire?!  I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! Seriously. :)

Mud Run Round 2

This past fall, I put together a team of teachers from Hillcrest to compete in our first ever Goodwill Mud Run in Greenville.  3.5 miles with 35 obstacles (everything from getting over 8ft walls to climbing 15ft rope walls to swinging on ropes over mud pits to crawling under trenches to swimming through mud)
Well...two of our four team members went and got pregnant on us :)
SO! Julie and I went on an adventure to try and find two more teachers that would fight it out in the mud.  We found them...
AND BOOM ROASTED OUR PREVIOUS TIME by 10 minutes!

Any takers for this October?  All proceeds go to charity!!! (Last year they raised over $70,000)

Hello!!!

I'm still here! :)  My computer is currently being worked on by my lovely father in law, hence the lack of recent blogging.  Don't worry. I'm here to put all your worries to ease. :)

Our garden is doing wonderfully - everything is growing.  Pics coming soon

The Washington, DC trip has come and gone...SO MUCH FUN!!!  Pics coming soon

We went down to Lexington during Easter and were able to stop by the Suits residence...K&K have a BEAUTIFUL baby girl...so tiny and wonderful!!! (No pics)

This is after the Cooper River Bridge 10k Run  (this past weekend)

 

The kittens are still large and in charge and loving life.  They turn 3 this month!!!  We've been keeping the windows open for their spring air enjoyment.

 

Grey is in the interviewing process - he was just told that he'll have a second interview for a position in a school in Greenville.  The school doesn't have a lot of money right now so the position available would be a big cut in pay for us.  We're trusting the Lord that He'll work it out regardless of how it turns out.

 

We're going on a cruise this summer with one of our good couple friends from Clemson...WHOOP WHOOP!!! We talk about it on a weekly basis...so excited!

 

We've also decided that we're going to start camping.  Grey is going to break me in gently by taking me camping at his farm some time this month.  After that, we've got plans to go backpacking somewhere in either NC or Tenn.  Should be fun!
