One Year!

Wednesday, Feb 10, Grey and I celebrated our one year! It most certainly has been a fun and challenging year as we have gotten to know each other. Some fun memories include:
-Cooking appetizers for the Progressive Dinner with Grey in a camo apron AND chef hat
-Writing letters for the entire summer while we were both serving at different camps
-Playing capture the flag and ultimate Frisbee at night with friends
-Hanging with each others’ families over Christmas break
-Getting one of the most thoughtful gifts for my birthday last year…Cheerios!
-Watching the Braves play (and win) against the Phillies
-Grey throwing an ax at a tree, trying for a “Dr. Quinn, Sully” impression
-Playing in the snow…THREE separate times

We have a few quirks though between us that make for funny stories:
-As a James woman, I am not patient enough to cook rice. So Grey has made me promise that whenever I cook a dinner that calls for rice, I allow him to do it.
-Apparently our relationship has issues with Sunday and church, as most of our little disagreements happen at church. Maybe it’s because we’re so excited about Jesus that we totally disregard the other person?
-When we play ultimate Frisbee, we have to be on the same team or Grey will end up guarding me. When this happens, I usually have a major poothead attack and pout because I don’t get the Frisbee enough because he’s so good at guarding. Who decided I was turning 23 soon and not 13?

Overall, it’s been so much fun! These are from our recent dinner at Olive Garden and evening after.

The daisies that Grey gave me

This was about 1 minute after we received our plates...Notice how much is gone from mine, and how much is gone from Grey's :)

Yep...That's right. I'm eating RIGHT out of the salad bowl

Look at that foot pop :)

Finally a good one!

Yep...That's us! :)

Love y'all!

And then the white bear rode her up the mountain...

This past weekend, Mom and I traveled up to Chapel Hill to stay a few days with the pregnant sister, Kristi! Boy oh boy was it filled with scary stories of people getting kidnapped, chocolate, shopping, what not to wear, and food! Although we had so much fun, Jenny was greatly missed! Here are some pictures during our trip.

Pictures: Mom and I are pumped and ready to go; My reading material for the car trip; Our snacks for the weekend; It was a 4 hour drive AFTER a 2 1/2 hour drive from Clemson...what do you expect?

About an hour from Chapel Hill, we decided that we needed a break and because it was between 2:00 and 4:00....Sonic became our next destination. We stopped at the nearest sonic and ordered two Route 44 Diet Strawberry Limeades. Apparently, mom's wasn't as sweet as she thought it would be...

For any of you that know me, you know that I CANNOT under any circumstances eat Cilantro. Well...obviously the Chinese people making my food were not aware of these circumstances. Yep, that green leafy thing to the right of my plate is definitely A POISONOUS KILLER!

Left: Mom was REALLY excited that it was snowing
Right: Yep...see the snow? :)
Below: Which one is the food baby and which one is 5 months pregnant?

Saturday night, we decided to cook dinner which consisted of Ranch burgers, roasted mushrooms, and sauteed green beans. After dinner, popsicles were on the menu as the dessert item. However, mom had just a TAD bit of trouble actually getting into hers and this was the result. :)

So yep. The trip was pretty much amazing and a much needed break from school. I'm thankful that I ended up sleeping with Kristi since the guest bedroom was apparently labeled as the "kidnapper" room by mom. Serves her right that she got to sleep in it and that she ended up worrying all night. :)

21 Part....THREE!

21 Part ONE: So when I turned 21, I realized that I was one-fifth done with my life and this resulted in a disruptive mid-life crisis. On my birthday, I ended up chowing down on an ENTIRE (yep...the full 12 ounces) bag of chocolate chips, going to my cycling class, getting dizzy and passing out on the bike. Joyous.

21 Part TWO resulted in going midnight bowling with my precious sixth graders. One of them made a chocolate cake for me and with all the sketchy men at the bowling alley watching, they belted out the most beautiful rendition of "Happy Birthday." It was definitely one of the best birthdays ever!

We're chowing down on the cake that Abby made me

my 6th graders :)

What will 21 Part THREE encompass?
